About Us

Jason was born near South Bend, IN on October 20, 1984, the oldest of four children. Two years later, his family moved to Big Rock, IL where he spent his childhood days running around the neighborhood with his brother and friends. Jason was active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and in 2002 he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Marmion Academy in Aurora, IL where he graduated in 2003. Throughout high school and college he worked several jobs at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, IL including caddying, valet, and pianist in the formal dining room. Jason graduated with a degree in Bioengineering in 2007 from the University of California, San Diego. He has been working for the San Diego-based biotech company Sequenom for 4 years, starting as an in-house test engineer and later becoming a field engineer who spent his life on the road. Just recently Jason was promoted to Business Development Manager of the Midwest region.

Joni was born in Charleston, SC on March 16, 1984 and was adopted a few weeks later. As a baby, Joni moved around the US but she eventually settled in Windham, NH where she stayed from age 4-18. Before she left for Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Joni spent the summer at her favorite destination (Montauk, NY) hanging out with family and tending bar at the beach. Joni was very active in college in Women's Engineering, Campus Tours, and as President of Zeta Tau Alpha. She graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree in December 2006. Joni spent her first 4 years working as a software consultant for Junction Solutions. Flares of her Colitis and the desire to see Jason more prompted Joni to leave her life as a Consulting Manager and pursue a new opportunity at Young Innovations in the Chicagoland area. In her spare time, Joni trains for half marathons; so far she has completed 7 in 6 states (GA, TN, NJ, TX, MA, LA).
